Black Friday Questions, Answered: Shipping, Returns and Gift Exchanges

The questions that arrive in our inbox every November are rarely about the clothes. They are about the parcel. Will it get here before the school play? What if the leggings are the wrong size? Does the sale change the rules on returns? These are reasonable things to worry about, and the answers are all written down somewhere on this site, just not in one place.

So here they are, in one place. This is a plain-language guide to Black Friday shipping and returns at moodytiger: how long delivery takes, what it costs, how the 30-day window works and the one exclusion worth knowing about before you buy. Nothing below is special sale fine print. These are the same policies that apply all year, laid out so you can order on a busy weekend without guessing.

Shipping: how long, and how much

Every order is processed by our warehouse team within two business days of being placed, and you receive a tracking number by email the moment it ships. From there, transit time depends on where you are. The published delivery windows are: North America five to seven business days; Europe, Australia and the UK seven to ten; East Asia three to five; the Middle East six to eight; Hong Kong and Macau one to three. During a sale weekend, the honest thing to say is that carriers get busy. The processing promise holds, but the transit end of the journey can stretch by a day or two in late November. If a parcel has to arrive by a fixed date, add a week of margin rather than trusting the fastest end of the range.

Shipping is free on orders over 79 dollars. Below that, a small fee of between 3.99 and 6.99 dollars applies depending on destination. For international orders, shipping fees do not include customs duties or taxes; those are the recipient's responsibility and vary by country. We cannot deliver to P.O. boxes, so a street address is needed at checkout.

Ordering for a date: a simple way to count back

Take the delivery window for your region, add two business days of processing, and then add that extra week of November margin. For a North American address that means ordering roughly two and a half weeks before you need the parcel in hand; for Europe or Australia, closer to three. This is arithmetic from the published windows, not a guarantee, but it has kept most of our December parcels out of trouble.

Returns and exchanges: the 30-day window

Any order qualifies for exchange or refund within 30 days from the date you received all the items in it. The clock starts at delivery, not at purchase, which matters for Black Friday orders that may take a week or more to arrive.

Items need to come back unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with original tags and packaging intact. That is the whole condition, and it is worth saying plainly to anyone receiving a gift: try it on indoors, keep the tags on until you are sure, and keep the bag. For hygiene reasons, panties and boxers cannot be returned or exchanged.

Returns start online. Submit a request with your order number and the items you want to send back, follow the instructions you receive, include the order number inside the parcel and send us the tracking number. Who pays for return shipping

This is the part that varies, so here it is in full. US customers receive complimentary return shipping when they are exchanging for a different product or requesting store credit; once the request is approved, a prepaid label is sent. If a US customer wants a refund to the original payment method instead, they cover the return shipping themselves. International customers cover return shipping for all return types.

In practice this means the cheapest route for a US family who ordered the wrong size is an exchange, not a refund and reorder. It also means that when you are buying as a gift for someone abroad, it is worth getting the size right first time. The one exclusion to read before you buy

Items discounted by 50 percent or more are classed as clearance and cannot be returned or exchanged. This rule exists all year, but it is far more likely to touch you in a sale, because that is when deep markdowns appear. If a product's final price in your basket is half its list price or less, treat it as a final sale: check the size chart twice and buy it for the child it fits now, not the one they will be in March.

For everything else in the sale, the ordinary 30-day window applies. If you are unsure whether a particular item has crossed the line, the product page and your order confirmation both show the list price and the price paid, so the comparison takes a few seconds.

Smaller questions that come up every year

Can I change an order after placing it? Only within a short window, because processing starts quickly. Contact Customer Care as soon as possible with your order number and we will do what we can.

Will everything arrive together? Usually. Occasionally items ship from different warehouses and arrive separately, in which case you receive a tracking number for each parcel. It is not a sign that anything is missing.

The tracking says delivered but there is nothing here. Carriers sometimes mark parcels delivered a little early. Give it 48 hours, check with neighbours and any safe place, and if it still has not appeared, contact us and we will investigate with the carrier.

How to make the whole thing easy on yourself

Decide what you need before the prices change, which is the subject of our stock-up list. Measure the child, not the age label. Order early enough that a late carrier does not matter.
